We are excited to announce some February additions to our schedule of FREE classes here in The Vault! We are bringing back early morning Pilates on Fridays at 8am, so come along for a great pre-work, early start to the weekend. Yoga continues to take place on Friday evenings so if you’re feeling like a wind-down after a busy week come along at 5.30pm for beginners, or 6.45pm for those with a little more experience. We also have a great new weekend class –  Thursday Boxercise has ended but we have a fantastic new Boxercise class on Sundays at 2.30pm, for an extended 90-minute class to really get the heart pumping for the week ahead.

Our other classes continue to run so why not come along to Zumba on a Monday (6pm), play a classic game of Table Tennis on a Tuesday (7pm), show off your Hula skills on a Wednesday (7pm) or dance along to some classics with Line Dancing on a Thursday (7pm). Check out our website for the full timetable www.blgbt.org/fitness.

Please note that our classes can get full quite quickly and work on a first come first served basis so please arrive on time for Yoga, Boxercise, Pilates and Zumba. Hula, Line Dancing, and Table Tennis are our more social groups meaning you can come for as long or as little as you like!

We have welcomed many new faces in 2017 to all our classes, so please come along if you’re new and looking for some fun ways to keep fit and socialize in a relaxed, inclusive environment!

We are also very excited to introduce our new Trans Football Group – to coincide with Football v Homophobia’s Month of Action, and in partnership with Aston Villa Foundation. If you identify as Trans and want to take part in establishing a new Football Group in Birmingham then why not come along to one or more of our coaching sessions at Aston Villa Academy, next door to the stadium itself, on a Wednesday 5pm throughout March. For more info have a look at our post here .

Fancy taking part in some groups in and around Birmingham?

The Swifts currently meet every Thursday at the Pagoda for a 7pm run between 4 and 5 miles long, perfect if you’re an old hand at 5k, or maybe you’ve entered the Birmingham 10k in April and need a little coaxing into your longer runs. Rainbow Rambles have their next Ramble on April 8th (location TBC please check back), TAGS continue their swim sessions at Moseley Road Baths every second Monday (8pm), and Ballroom Dancing continues in Kings Heath on March 19th (6.30pm) and then into April. If you fancy improving on your swimming, or just want to come along and ‘splash and chat’ then why not mosey down to Moseley Road Baths and meet the Shoals on a Sunday (12.30pm), Monday (8pm) and Wednesday (8pm).

Check out the Fitness page here to stay up to date with all the new classes and activities, and follow us on Twitter for any announcements.

The Vault is also available to hire if you and one other person want to come along and use the space and equipment for your own personal workout, Monday-Thursday daytime. If you are interested please get in touch by emailing activate@blgbt.org. We have punch bags, mats, boxing gloves, weights, exercise balls and much more, all totally free of charge. Minimum two people at a time.
