The lovely group members of Birmingham Friends of the Earth, have kindly donated their crafted Pride Progress flag to us. This will be proudly hanging in the centre for service users to check out. We are continuing to decorate the new centre with artworks that reflect the community, if you have something you’d like to donate please get in touch.
“The Birmingham Friends of the Earth Pride Flag Stitching Event was about creating a symbol of inclusion while promoting sustainability by using donated scrap fabric to make a Progress Pride flag. It was important to us that we created a space for individuals within our community to bond through craftivism. The participants had the opportunity to meet new people while supporting two great organisations and helping save fabric from entering landfills. We wanted to give the flag to the Birmingham LGBT Centre as a thank you for all you have done for our community and to begin a relationship between our organisations that we hope can continue long past this event” – Jemima, Birmingham Friends of the Earth
