We are very excited to introduce Trans United, a new project between Birmingham LGBT and Aston Villa Foundation, launched during Football V Homophobia Month of Action.
Starting from Wednesday February 22nd 2017 5pm-6pm there will be a six-week course held indoors at Aston Villa Academy Building, Villa Park, Witton Lane B6 6QE for anyone who identifies as Trans and wants to take part in some football coaching, with the aim in mind to establish a new Trans football team in Birmingham (over 18s).
After the six-week course, and once the weather picks up a bit, we hope to move the group to a permanent biweekly meet in the city centre, with the option of indoor/outdoor and days/times to be arranged with those participating.
All coaching classes take place on a Wednesday, 5pm-6pm on the following dates:
February 22nd
March 1st
March 8th
March 15th
March 22nd
March 29th
Don’t worry if you cannot commit to the full six-week course, please just come along on the days you are available. If you would like more information, please email activate@blgbt.org, otherwise just show up on the day with some suitable clothing and indoor trainers!
The group coaching will be facilitated by three qualified trainers at Villa. The changing rooms are gendered, but the group will have sole access to them.
The coaching is totally free so if you want to improve your footie skills and be a part of a new Trans football team, then this is for you!
