Support for community groups

Ever thought of setting up a community group or activity, but don’t know where to start?

Would you like your group to grow and develop?

Birmingham LGBT is offering FREE practical and financial support for members of the LGBTQI+ community who want to set up a new group or activity, and for existing community groups.

The offer includes support to apply for a Microgrant of up to £500 and access to training and networking events.

If you are interested, please email Maria Hughes or call 0121 643 0821.

NNS (Neighbourhood Network Scheme) Connected Communities LGBTQI+ Project is a partnership between Birmingham LGBT, Birmingham City Council and Heart of England Community Foundation to support and encourage community activities and connections.

Why Join a Community Group?

Community group activities can contribute to people’s wellbeing and feelings of social inclusion, particularly when they have little other access to social events or groups with a focus of shared interest or participate with people they identify with.

As well as having a positive benefit for individuals, group activities can also contribute to strengthening the LGBTQI+ community.
