WHEN: Wednesday 7th December – 13:00-16:00
WHERE: Birmingham LGBT
WHAT:

We are looking for a group of LGBT people to share their experiences of the British economy with the Royal Society of Arts.

The RSA (Royal Society of Arts) are inviting you to an interactive workshop to voice your opinions on the British economy and how it affects your day to day life. We will create a space for open discussion and personal storytelling on themes such as: work, health and housing.

This workshop is part of our Economic Inclusion Roadshow, which involves a series of half-day workshops across the UK. The Economic Inclusion Roadshow is part of our Citizens’ Economic Council programme and is designed to ensure that we are engaging with as diverse a range of voices as possible. The Citizens’ Economic Council itself is a deliberative engagement process with a diverse group of 50 – 60 citizens, who will form the first ever citizens’ council to deliberate national economic policy and engage with policymakers in the UK.

The feedback from this workshop will be written up into a report and presented at the Citizens’ Economic Council meetings, so this is an opportunity to have your voice heard by national level policymakers and politicians. We would also make a thank you payment of £50 in vouchers, redeemable at most mainstream retailers, by way of a thank you payment for your time and contributions.

Refreshments will be provided on the day.

This programme of work is supported by two large charitable foundations – the Barrow Cadbury Trust and the Friends Provident Foundation.

If you would like to take part in this event, please email Ros Gammie rosgammie@blgbt.org.
