We are excited to partner with Birmingham Royal Ballet to be able to offer a free ballet taster session and performance ticket on June 15th. Not only will participants enjoy a free lesson in their very own Studio, but all those who attend will be given a complimentary ticket to the matinée performance of Coppélia the very same day! Come and engage with ballet in a workshop and then experience its beauty on stage, all for free.

This will be a fun and energetic ballet session prior to the showing – an exciting opportunity for anyone LGBT to engage with the work of Birmingham’s International ballet company and experience the unique quality of dancing to live music.  You need to be over the age of 18 and booking is a must – please email activate@blgbt.org to find out more, and to reserve your place!

ABOUT:

‘When eccentric toymaker Dr Coppélius leaves his greatest creation, the doll Coppélia, on his workshop balcony she’s soon causing quite a stir in the village. Lovers Franz and Swanilda both want to find out what is going on; but things are even stranger than they seem. With a wild mix of abracadabra, comic chaos is unleashed as Dr Coppélius tries to bring Coppélia to life and Swanilda tries to stop him.

A timeless classic from the golden age of classical ballet, Coppélia, with its tuneful, romantic music, stands alongside such classics as Swan Lake and The Sleeping Beauty as one of the great works of the 19th century’
