Canals, Chocolate and Cannon Hill cycle ride

FREE

Saturday, 25th June 2016

Meet at 1.30PM at the cycle hub just between the Tower Ballroom (near car park) and Edgbaston Reservoir (Reservoir Rd entrance) – B16 9EE. Don’t worry if you don’t have a bike – Birmingham City Council will lend us theirs. This event is FREE.

Your ride will be led by Joe and Andrew – both trained cycle leaders – and will use the canals and designated cycleways to explore south Birmingham. Starting at Edgbaston reservoir we will cycle along the towpath to Bournville where we will join the Rea Valley cycle route which runs alongside the river through to Cannon Hill Park. A lovely ride! From here we will use a designated cycle route back into the city centre rejoining the canal and finishing back at the reservoir. The ride is mainly off road although there are some on road sections. We will ride at your pace but anticipate about 3 hours. All welcome.

Bus route – catch the 80 from stop NS3 on St Martin’s Queensway (by Boots in the Bullring) or from Pentahotels, Lee Bank. Alight on Icknield Port Road at Osler Street, walk up Osler Street then turn right into Reservoir Road. They are every 20 minutes, the 12.54 would be perfect. If you are driving there, please use the main car park, not the Tower Ballroom. Contact
