Birmingham LGBT announces new Chair of the Board of Trustees

Birmingham LGBT has appointed Steve Ball as its new Chair, replacing Ian Hyde who has stepped down after four years in the role.

Steve was the founding Chair of Birmingham Pride Community Trust which was established in 2002 and is now known as Birmingham LGBT. He was instrumental in launching the Shout queer arts festival and has remained active within the city’s LGBT community ever since.

Steve says “I am delighted to once again Chair Birmingham LGBT. These are exciting times for the organisation as we prepare to move into a new building at the heart of the Gay Village. I remain committed to working with our dedicated staff team to continue to provide and develop services that meets the need of our diverse community.”

Steph Keeble, Director of Birmingham LGBT says “We are sorry to see Ian Hyde leave the organisation after four years as the chair and would like to thank him for his hard work and dedication . We would also like to welcome Steve Ball to the role and are looking forward to working with him ”
