Following assessment by national quality accreditation body Investors in People (IIP), Birmingham LGBT has been awarded the prestigious IIP Silver status, held by only a small percentage of organisations throughout the country. The achievement comes after Birmingham LGBT demonstrated exceptional commitment to its people through the completion of an additional 76 evidence requirements beyond the basic standard, which aims to help businesses improve performance through the effective management and development of their teams.
During the assessment process, there was good evidence to show that people are a valued asset to the business as part of the accreditation Birmingham LGBT was seen to have the following key strengths

- Staff involvement and consultation
- Embedded values and social responsibility
- Commitment to equality and diversity
- Innovative and flexible learning available to everyone
- Strong sense of individual responsibility and leadership
- Employee/volunteer pride in working for the organisation
- Respect and trust for the leadership
- A Board with a range of relevant and supportive skills.
