artist call out: celebrating black history month 2023
In partnership with SHOUT Festival and Birmingham Pride, we are celebrating Black History Month 2023 with a creative opportunity!
We are offering four paid opportunities to Black LGBTQ+ artists living in Birmingham and the surrounding areas, to create an artwork poster highlighting Black History Month. We would like each poster to celebrate the following themes: Birmingham, LGBTQ+ & Black History Month.
Chosen posters will be shared through Birmingham LGBT, SHOUT Festival and Birmingham Pride social media and Birmingham LGBT centre, with information on each artist.
£150 per artist, inclusive of VAT.
4 artist places of any experience level.
Requirements: We welcome any medium however we require it to be digitally submitted. Size: 1080 x 1350 pixels.
Deadline to apply: Sunday 22nd October. Chosen artists will be contacted Monday 23rd October.

This years theme is ‘Saluting Our Sisters’ and the #WEMATTER movement. The theme of ‘Saluting our Sisters’ highlights the crucial role that black women have played in shaping history, inspiring change, and building communities.
