Birmingham LGBT invites you to a community engagement event, focusing on raising awareness of the under-reporting of LGBT Hate Crime and Hate Incidents within the LGBT community. This will take place on Saturday 12th March at the Birmingham LGBT Centre, from 1pm until 3.30pm.
The event is part of a wider campaign funded by the Equality and Human Rights Commission, delivered by 34 organisations across England and Wales to help raise awareness of LGBT Hate Crime, helping to encourage and support people to report incidents they may personally encounter or witness on behalf of someone else.
The event will include an awareness session on Hate Crime and how to recognise it, how and where you can report a Hate Crime or Hate Incident, and how you can access any victim support you may need. The event will also include a learning session with a qualified self-defence instructor, who will demonstrate practical ways to keep you safe.
