What: Birmingham Swifts is an LGBT+ running club for Birmingham. They’re open to everyone, no matter what your ability, sexuality or gender. It’s their aim to help you achieve your running goals in a friendly and supportive environment, whether you want to run your first 5km or a marathon.
Birmingham Swifts are led by England Athletics trained and approved run leaders and Coaches. They offer free social runs every week and England Athletics affiliation including technical coaching as a nationally recognised running club in Birmingham.
Our main runs start from Birmingham city centre. We also host Starting Out sessions for new runners during the year.
When: See Facebook / Twitter for weekly updates. Generally the Swifts meet at the Pagoda on a Thursday at 7pm for a 4-5 mile (7.5km approx) run.
They also attend parkrun at Cannon Hill Park on a Saturday at 9am for a timed 5k run: See parkrun website for free registration.
They also host Technical Training on Tuesday evenings for Affiliated members and some Sunday longer training runs with leader support.
See website or contact the Swifts for Starting Out session dates if you’re new to running.
