Why volunteer with Birmingham LGBT?
Volunteering at Birmingham LGBT can be a very rewarding experience. As a volunteer you can be a valuable part of an impactful organisation supporting, celebrating and raising awareness for the wider LGBTQ+ community. Volunteering can help you develop skills that you can use in other areas of your life, and gain experience in the charity sector.

If you’d like to find out more and ask questions, we are holding an online information session about volunteering on Monday 24th March at 12.30pm. If you wish to attend, please email volunteer@blgbt.org.

Desired Skills

Who can volunteer for Birmingham LGBT?
We need dedicated and passionate people to meet and greet service users, support the delivery of community groups, deliver outreach programmes, and help out with events like Pride. Whatever your passion and skill set, we have a role for you.

It’s important that our volunteers are friendly, reliable and empathetic, with excellent communication skills and some existing knowledge or experience with the LGBTQ+ community.

Applications are open to all, regardless of faith, race, ethnicity, ability, sexuality and gender identity. You must be over the age of 18 to apply and have not accessed a 1:1 service with us in the last 9 months.

How do I apply to volunteer for Birmingham LGBT?
Take a look at the Volunteer Information Pack to read more about the roles available and then download and fill out an Application Form above. Please email completed application forms to volunteer@blgbt.org by Monday 7th April at 12pm. If you would like to apply for more than one role, you only need to fill out one application form.

Please note that successful applicants will be offered a place at our training day on a first come first served basis. All applicants must be able to attend volunteer training on Saturday 26th of April 1pm-6.30pm, and Monday 28th April 6pm-9pm at Birmingham LGBT centre.
