After such a fantastic Fencing taster session in FitFeb we are excited to be running a free 4 week Fencing taster course from Saturday 28th April until Saturday 19th May 2018.
Relax, workout, meet people, learn new skills, do something exciting! Don’t miss the chance to try fencing for free with Birmingham LGBT and the Budokan and learn all about the sport over a 4 week course.
When: Saturdays = 28th April, 5th May, 12th May and 19th May @ 12:30 – 13:30. (Please arrive by 12:15 to get kitted up and briefed)
Where: The Budokan, 31-33 Sutton Street, Birmingham, B1 1PE
Learn fencing moves and techniques during this course which is lead by a professional instructor. Challenge your focus, agility and coordination each week and progress over the 4 sessions. The first 3 weeks will consist of practice with plastic swords with the final week using metal swords with appropriate instruction. If you are a beginner then it is the perfect time to come and try out such a fascinating sport! And if you attended our FitFeb taster then why not come along again and improve your skills?
The group will be working in a matted area, so no shoes are required and socks can be worn initially for the general ‘warm-up’.
Please wear loose comfortable clothing. Changing rooms with showers are available.
Jewellery will need to be removed for the session.
Please book your free places via Eventbrite if you want to attend these sessions. Please only book if you are able to attend all sessions in order to progress throughout the weeks and get the most out of the course.
If initial participation is low, we may be able to release places for the following sessions.
